Business start-up captures new businesses on camera

When business start-up owner Lauren McWilliams asked the Business Factory to help launch her photography business, she couldn’t have imagined that soon she would be the one providing support to other businesses in North Tyneside.

In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, as working practices for many small businesses changed multiple times, the resilience of local enterprises became evermore apparent. Day after day we heard stories about how they were adapting to the changes. Inspired by their attitude, we decided to capture some of these amazing North Tyneside businesses through a special photographic project.

A number of local photographers were asked to submit a bid for the project. Lauren worked hard to present a winning tender through her business For You Photography and was awarded the contract.

Capturing the essence of North Tyneside

Lauren knows what it feels like to be a start-up business. Combining that feeling with her natural eye for capturing a real moment in time, she had great empathy with her peers and we are delighted with the results.  You’ll see Lauren’s images used within our website and we’ll filter more through our social media platforms in time. Of her own business start-up experience Lauren told us,

“I stumbled across The Business Factory on my Facebook page it seemed to be perfect timing as I’d just left my job due to Ill health. I signed up to a workshop introducing me to self employment and was introduced to Paul Brown, one of the fantastic advisors.

Paul worked with me, helping me to really turn my photography into a solid business, giving me all the right resources and information of where to start. He went above and beyond his role and even helped me to secure my first big client. I am forever thankful to Paul and the rest of The Business Factory team for their support and dedication to help people like myself to find the courage to get started and turn their passion into a business. I absolutely love what I do now and couldn’t have done it without them.
