Selling your art and craft work through shops and galleries workshop | Tuesday 21st May at 1pm
May 21 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
Selling art and crafts is a very competitive market. Standing at craft fairs and markets can be fruitful, it can also be soul destroying, is your time better spent making or selling?
This workshop will give you an insight into both sides of the counter, as it is from an artist who manages a gallery and also sells through her own work through other outlets. Local artist and gallery owner, Gail Curry, will help you work through the following:
- How to approach a prospective stockist
- Are you prepared?
- Does your work look professional?
- Do you know what you need to ask?
You’ll consider; what do you get out of it? And what do they get out of it?
To book your free place, follow the instructions in Registration Box below to take you through to Eventbrite which handles our bookings.
This workshop is open to North Tyneside businesses and residents only due to the funding criteria.
Gail Curry, Artist and Gallery Owner
I made the decision to be a full-time artist and maker just over five years ago. That process began at my kitchen table, where I taught myself how to make felt. I have progressed from craft fairs to setting up a social enterprise and managing a studio gallery where I successfully sell thirty local artists work and my own. I am frequently approached by badly prepared artists, or by clumsy approaches. So let’s look at how to make your approach professional, successful and your work stand out from the crowd.
